Soft French Kitchen
Elevating a home with modern colors, custom details, and using her creative energy is what Gwynn Guy loves best, especially with her 31 years of experience in Interior Design.
Gwynn selected a tranquil French color that lends itself green, blue, or gray for her client’s kitchen refresh. She continued the hue with subway tile laid in a running bond pattern and arabesque backsplash as the focal point. Modern countertops and new hardware bring the kitchen fresh life, while the handknotted rug keeps with the home’s elegant ambiance. The homeowner had an extensive blue and white collection that Gwynn featured, and it pops against the aqua color.
The breakfast nook reflects the aqua tones with a custom balloon faux shade and a handknotted rug, while chairs were recovered in a modern leopard print. The homeowner updated her existing table and chairs by chalk painting them a light cream color.
In the living room, Gwynn selected a traditional handknotted rug in red and navy hues. Needlepoint pillows add a timeless element to the stylish room.
Green silk charmeuse and silk dupioni was used in the guest bedroom’s custom drapery, bedding, and pillows. Ball and tassel fringe are seen on the foot blanket. Gwynn designed the throw pillow to reflect a dress with the antique broach and bow. A gold rose lamp and candlestick accent the nightstand. The bed skirt and linen eyelet pillows, which resembles a bride’s dress, were selected from Anderson Downtown and blend seamlessly with the other custom designs.
